27th Annual Black Women’s Expo Headed to Atlanta December 17 – 18

The Nation’s Largest Expo for Black Women to feature “Bagels and Bosses” Brunch, exhibitors, powerful seminars, health screenings, fitness demonstrations, hair and fashion shows, celebrity speakers and live entertainment

(ATLANTA) – After a 3-year hiatus, the Black Women’s Expo (BWe NEXT) returns to Atlanta December 17-18, 2022 at the Georgia International Convention Center uplifting the theme “The Legacy Continues.” As a holiday gift to the community, Expo tickets are complimentary at BWeNEXT.com through December 6th.

“We chose this theme in tribute to the thousands of Black women, men and families that have supported us over the years without fail,” said Merry Green, Creator and Executive Producer of the largest expo for Black women in the country. “The Expo has always been about celebrating the greatness of the Black woman, and we strive to make every moment uplifting, empowering and just plain fun.”

The festivities will kick off Saturday, December 17th at 9:30 a.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by an inaugural “Bagels and Bosses” Brunch with a panel discussion featuring some of Atlanta’s elite entrepreneurs including Yandy Smith, Nicci Gilbert and Milan Harris. Tickets are complimentary, but must be reserved online at BWEnext.com.

Once the Expo begins, attendees can expect two days of informative seminars, celebrity guest speakers, live demonstrations including a fashion show, hair show, and main stage entertainment. Hundreds of exhibitors will be on the main floor showcasing products and services just in time to meet the needs of holiday shoppers.

Green shared that both the Chicago and Atlanta expos have been difficult to plan due to the sudden passing of her sister Ruby this summer.

“I lost my sister unexpectedly, and wasn’t sure how I could move forward,” said Green. “Then I remembered how much she loved the Expo and would fly in every year to lend a helping hand. So, I wiped my tears, got back to work. I made it through Chicago, and here we are in Atlanta, just like Ruby would want.”

Green is dedicating this year’s shows to the memory of her sister, Ruby Coley.

“I am extending a special invitation to all of Atlanta to come make memories with us this holiday season,” said Green. “It will be an experience of empowerment you won’t soon forget.”

J.P. Morgan Chase is serving as this year’s Title Sponsor for the Chicago, Detroit and Atlanta shows. Other sponsors include Eli Lilly, Bank of America, Kaiser Permanente, CVS Health, ORS, Universal Beauty, V103/WVEE, CISCRP, Grady Hospital, Atlanta Daily World and Atlanta Tribune.

Dear BWe family,

There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude for the support and encouragement shown by so many throughout this HUGE undertaking that we affectionately call “BWe NEXT Atlanta!”

Thank you to our sponsors (especially Chase Bank, our 2022 Title Sponsor), those small business exhibitors, musical artists, speakers & panelists, my phenomenal team and every single attendee for breathing life into our celebration of the Black woman in all three cities! Because of you, her legacy indeed continues!

I stole a few moments here and there to check out the vendors, pop in on panel discussions and catch some entertainment on the main stage. All I could say was, “WOW! WE DID THAT!”

There’s no doubt that my sister is smiling down on our earnest efforts that manifested into excellent execution. Ruby, we did it!

Again, please accept my heartfelt thanks….and Happy New Year!

Submitted with love,
